Dr. Rakesh Chokshi, M.D. specializes in Spine Surgery. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has advanced fellowship level training in adult and pediatric spine which include cervical (neck), thoracic and lumbar (back) problems.

He specializes in spinal problems like herniated disk, degenerated disk, stenosis and myelopathy of a simple and complex nature. His special interests are cervical spine problems and minimally invasive thorocolumbar procedures using current technology to help patients with spine problems. He also has a special interest in pediatric deformity and spine trauma.

Dr. Chokshi received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Chokshi completed his orthopaedic surgery training at Ochsner Hospitals and Clinics in New Orleans, LA. He pursued his Spine Surgery Fellowship at nationally and internationally known Leatherman Spine Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

Dr. Chokshi practices with Dr. W.S. (Bill) Edwards, Spine Surgeon and Dr. Anthony Alexander, a physiatrist at Pee Dee Spine Center, a division of Pee Dee Orthopaedic Associates.

Dr. Chokshi is a regular attendee at the Cervical Spine Research Society, the North American Spine Society, the South Carolina Spine Society, the South Carolina Orthopaedic Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons meetings.
